Here at The Fiction Asylum we want to be your creative home!
There are lots of fun things to do on the Forum...
- Interact with members of similar interests
- Roleplay intricate stories or fun flicks
- Have silly conversations with character accounts
- Enjoy a plethora of fictions and comics by the site admins
- And of course have lots and lots of fun!
Of course like all safe haven's there must be rules to keep things running smoothly and member stresses low.
Rules!
Rules!
- In order to fully enjoy this site you must become a star ranked member. That simply means you must have a star of some sort listed under your name. To become a star ranked member, all you have to do is join the forum (obviously) then make 5 posts in the introductions board. Once done the rest of the site is your oyster!
- Do not make spam posts on this forum to up your post count. A spam post could be anything from posting a message that only has a single (or sometimes multiple) emote in it, to advertising for another site outside of the advertising board. (The only exception to this rule is the spam board itself which will exist until we have enough members to enjoy the site ranking regularly)
Spam posts are not looked kindly upon and will be removed on sight. After multiple occurrences of spamming the threads, your account will be temporarily warned. If you continue to spam despite warning, you will be suspended. - Do not interrupt a closed role play. I know I speak for more then myself when I say that it is very rude to enter someone else's home without asking. The same goes for role playing. If the people involved in the role play did not invite you to join in, and it is not listed as "public" you may not interfere.
Exception being the admin if the ones role playing are breaking rules while doing so. - Any role play that is open for all site members you must include the word "open" or "public" in the title of the thread. If you have one of those key words and your role play is NOT open for all members, you will need to change it or start a new thread.
- Character accounts MAY interact in other boards on the forum, however any time they are not in character MUST be marked with ( ) or [ ] If a character account is out of character far more then they are in character they will have their character status stripped.
- If you would like to have your own character account, make a new account on the forum with the character's name. Give it an icon so we know what they look like, etc. and include what your normal posting account is somewhere on the profile (this can be removed after you are approved). Then go to your profile and the "groups" tab. There will be a list of available groups. Request to be a member of the "Roleplay Account" group. The admins will review the request and either approve it, or reject it. If you have not reached a 3 rank star (Social Mouse) on your main account, you will likely not be approved. If it is rejected you will be notified with the reason why.
- Be kind and courteous to your fellow members. If a member is misbehaving, do not encourage them. Instead, click the gear next to their post and select "Report Post" from the drop menu. The admins will take care of it from there.
- Sometimes writers and artists would like a little extra help to make sure they made no obvious mistakes in their work. The ones who check for mistakes in online fiction are referred to as beta-readers. If you would like to be a noticed beta-reader on this forum for any members to request help from: go to your profile, click the groups tab, and request to join the "Beta-Reader" group. You must have reached at least a 4 basic star (Inspired Mouse) rank to be considered.
- Keep all threads in their proper boards. Do not post a roleplay in a discussion board. Do not talk about Mouse Chronicles in a Virgins board, etc. Just keep things organized for everyone.
- Because proboards is a free forum host, our lovely forum will be removed if we do not abide by their rules. Due to this, please try to keep all chat on the forum to a PG-13 level. We would not like to loose the forum so soon after starting it.
Be sure to mind the rules, and I'm positive we'll all have a great time!
